Caged Humans Protest

I was looking for some statistical information about the differences between free-range chickens and chickens kept in cages, when I found an interesting Australian site devoted to stopping the caged farming of chickens. These guy do what they call installation/performance art to bring public awareness to the plight of caged chickens.

It’s a laudable project, but I couldn’t help feeling that the inhabitants of these cages don’t look bored enough. Take a look around the office and see what the expressions on your co-worker’s faces are like. Bored? Feeling trapped? Not unlike a chicken cage. Chickens in cages often have to have their beaks clipped because they are liable to attack their neighbors in frustration and boredom. Sound familiar? Next time you feel like snapping at a cubicle-mate for some slight infraction of the rules, just remember those chickens. At least you get to go home at six-o-clock.
