When you are running a business, it is easy to just think of the numbers involved. How many units sold this week? What is our net profit? To do this is to make a major mistake in assessing what is truly important in any business. The people involved in the process should be of paramount importance. Sadly, many people go to work every day filled with dread. They follow their feet to their little cubicle and count down the minutes until they are released. The only reason they still show up is to get the paycheck they so desperately need. Often, the reason for this is a problem that does not receive enough publicity. The problem is bullies in the workplace.

Bullying is often thought of as a problem that only occurs on the playground and in the classroom. The truth is, those same people who spent their childhood years pushing other kids around, sometimes grow up to continue their overbearing and aggressive ways. As astute boss will first make sure that he is not guilty of bullying his employees in any way. Then, he will make it a priority to ensure that no forms of this behavior are allowed to occur in the work environment he is in charge of.

This is not only based on wishing for a happier work environment. There are now laws being put into place that put management on the spot if physical or verbal bullying is allowed to take place on the job. No one likes a bully. A clear message should be sent throughout society, and a great place to start is right in your own office.

Imagine what it would be like if your daily commute consisted of dropping your kids at school, then making a coffee and sitting down at your kitchen table. If you could find a way of making this your life, you’d do it, right?

That is a description of my mornings. I am earning enough money every month to replace the income from my old job. I work just 15 hours a week and on average earn double what I could earn in a regular part-time job.

Every parent understands the heartbreak of leaving a child so you can go to work, but you will also appreciate the hassle and frustration of dealing with sick days and school holidays too. Juggling work and motherhood is so hard I was determined to find a way to do it on my terms.

Now I work when it is convenient. I can care for the kids if they are sick without upsetting a boss, I can take care of them during the holidays, and I can be there for every Christmas nativity play, and end of year performance.

I spent hours and hours searching the Web for the right opportunity. I’ve lost count of the number of times I got sucked into reading something, only to discover at the bottom of the page it would cost me $$$$$ to get started. I even started one online job that was paying just $3 per hour, even though it had promised much more. Not only was that no way near enough money to pay the bills, it was a really stressful job with constant quality checks, and I felt totally undervalued.

The trick is to write about what you love, and what other people are searching for information on. I love writing about the hot toys for Christmas 2011, and toys for babies.

Now I juggle my time between writing about hot toys for my own website, and writing about whatever for a site called HubPages.

I can’t give you a magic formula for how it will work for you. I suggets you sign up to a few online writers communities, mingle online with people who have a similar ambition to you, and most all try lots of things without expecting them all to work

Are you familiar with a common southern food called “Vienna Sausage”? Okay, these little sausages might be based on a European tradition, but in the South, the name of the sausage isn’t pronounced like the European country – it’s pronounced “VI-enner.” I’m not sure if these things are available all over the United States, but they sure are eaten widely in the Deep South. They come in little pull-top cans, and they’re fully cooked when you buy them.

These American Vienna sausages are made from a combination of meats, including beef, pork, and chicken. These meats are ground very fine and seasoned with spices. Sausage casings are filled with the mixture and cooked – sometimes smoked. Once the sausages are completely cooked, the casings are peeled away, and the sausages are sliced into two or three-inch segments and canned.

Many southerners eat Vienna sausages right from the can, often with saltine crackers. Sometimes they’re used in sandwiches, too. For some reason, southern males seem to like these much more than southern females do. In fact, they’re often packed for fishing, camping, and hunting trips, along with saltines and hot sauce. What do they taste like? To me, the little sausages are much like “mushy” hot dogs. I ate them as a kid, but I’ve moved on.

Everyone has heard of Dyson vacuum cleaners, right? In fact, their name is more synonymous with vacuum cleaners than some other brand that shall remain nameless. YouCube has a Dyson. OK, it’s a little old, but I’ve had the thing for years and it just keeps going. It does a damn good job too , so I don’t want a new one. But, it needs the occasional spare part, and I must admit, in the past, it was a little difficult to workt hrough the Dyson spare parts site. No longer. Dyson have opened a new, easier to use parts and accesories section to their website.

Dyson have opened a new, easier to use parts and accesories section to their website.

And I mean a LOT easier to use. I needed a part for my trusty DC 01, so I went to the parts and accessories link on the site. Lo and behold, there are photos of all their vacuum cleaners, right down to all the colours. Just click on yours, and you are spirited to a new page with photos and descriptions of all the parts. Easy, you just click on the part you want, decide if you want to buy it. If you do, hit the “buy” button and away you go. Love it! Next time you need any Dyson parts take a look at their site.

I have just installed a new plugin from FiddyP.
If it can’t find a feed in the default location for the site then it will parse the page the author has used for their site field of the comment form and look for a feedburner feed, if it finds one, it goes and gets the last post they made from that. It does this at the time of the comment being posted and appends the extra text just before the comment gets saved to the database, this way it doesn’t put any extra load on the database or server other than the effort required add another 60 or so characters to the comment content.”

Leave me a comment to see it in action. You can download it here.
