Free head from FiddyP – oops I mean headphones

British blogger FiddyP is giving away a free set of  Vmoda Vibe headphones. I have never tried them myself, but according to FiddyP, they are the best thing since sliced bread, and thanks to the noise level in my office, I am looking forward to winning them (ever the optimist – when will I learn?) Sexier-looking headphones I have not seen.

For those of you tuning in from the USA, FiddyP is an English slang term used to describe a fifty pence piece, the equivalent of your half dollar coin, only worth twice as much.  FiddyP himself makes WordPress plugins, and if you “stumbled” into this blog, one of his plugins would have said “hello.”

The reason I am posting this is I got to thinking about the value of a good pair of noise cancelling headphones as an aid to sanity when working in a high noise cube farm. If some of your cubicle mates have voices louder than a New Jersey foghorn on a misty morning, something like these might be the answer. Rather than leaning over the partition brandishing a staple gun, try buying yourself a pair. These particular ones are rather expensive, but there are many cheaper alternatives.  And, let’s face it, being fired and going to prison for putting out one of your neighbor’s eyes  with a staple gun will probably be more expensive in the long run. You know it makes sense.
