Promoting a website

Now that YouCube is almost fully functional, I decided to try a few submissions to Digg, delicio.us, etc. Just to see which of these type of sites bring the most traffic. Which one does? I hear you ask with baited breath.

There was a clear winner:

Stumbleupon – by a clear margin. Hundreds of hits within minutes of submitting. Almost instantaneous traffic.

BUT, and this is a big but. It is not quality traffic. No click throughs to other pages, no Ad clicks, nothing. I have a feeling the stumblers in question had already hit the “Stumble” button on their browser before the first page had finished loading. We’ve all done it, bored at work, looking to while away the hours before it’s time to go home. Click, click, click, click…………

So is there a point to submitting your site there? I guess poor quality traffic is better than no traffic at all. What do you think ? Let me know if you have an opinion about this. Is it worth using stumble to get traffic ? If so, why ?
