Working in a cubicle drives you insane.
It’s official, working in a cubicle is bad for your mental health. William Vitanyi, mild-mannered cubicle worker by day and avenging angel-like cubicle culture author by night, has kindly sent me some photos of his office. As you enter Bill’s office and look over the dividers, the only things projecting up from the cubicles below are a large tree…. And what appears to be a parody of the Statue of Liberty gone horribly wrong.

It is only as you approach the edifice that you realize it is actually a trophy of some kind perched perilously atop an ever growing stack of books. Apparently, Bill and one of his cubicle mates have been slowly adding more books to the stack in the hope that someone will notice this cry for help, come to investigate and free the trapped cubicle hostages. Nobody has noticed yet.
I have yet to divine what this trophy was awarded for, but the stack of books is carefully hidden behind a promotional poster for Bill’s second book “Kyuboria,” the humorous story of a government cubicle worker destined never to be fired no matter how hard he tries.

Bill has recently released a new book, “The Official Guide To Office Wellness,” but more on that in another post.
In the meantime Bill, keep taking the pills.

that’s hilarious! it looks like the figure is duct-taped to the trophy?!
Oddly enough, that’s what it looks like to me too. I have asked Bill for details, but he has gone “ominously” quiet. More details will follow as I get them.
wow, that office does look bad.
Is this a real trophy?
